Journey On!

Today, I attempted to try a relaxation audio from class.  I am supposed to discuss my experience.  So here goes.

The setting:  Well I'm a mother of two young children, who are both at home.  One is playing on the computer, and the other on the IPad.  Seems like a perfect moment to get a few minutes to myself.  Push Play!
Moooommmmyyyyy!

Seriously, give me a minute sweetie, mommy's trying to relax for her homework!

Okay, now what did that guy just say, undo my clothes? Hmmm...maybe I will lock myself in the bathroom for this.  Well, now I need to pee.

Okay, start over.  Now I'm in the bathroom, door locked, privacy can't be better.  Oops, I feel guilty because I get angry with my husband for hiding out in the bathroom.  Oh well, I can justify it because it's for class.  Hmmm, what is this guy saying again.

Knock...knock.....Mommy, what are you doing in there? I need a snack!

Help yourself honey, I'm doing homework!  Really!

MOM!!! The dog got out!!!!

Okay, deep breath! What? It's over! Ah, heck....I've never been more stressed!  Think I'll just go for a run...Gotta catch the dog anyway!

Welcome

Welcome to my Blog!  I'm not going to lie, blogging is about the equivalent of public speaking for me (this would be a good place to mention that I faked laryngitis to get through my final for speech class).  My anxiety levels go up, I start to sweat, and the idea of anyone reading this makes me want to vomit (and to get the full effect of what I'm really typing, imagine a ridiculous amount of umms and errs).  However, I'm willing to give it a shot, if for no other reason than I enjoy my high grade point average.  I'm relying on the relaxation techniques from my stress management class to get me through this experience.

If you are reading this, and haven't figured out why I'm writing it in the first place, it is a requirement for a class I am taking called "Creating Wellness".  I have decided to go back to school for a Bachelor's in Health and Wellness, and this class gets me one step closer to that.  I can honestly say that many of the classes I have taken for this degree have helped me tremendously, and I hope to one day be able to use my new knowledge to help others.  We shall see! If not, I always have a Bachelor's in Business Administation/Manangement (my true comfort zone) to fall back on!  Wouldn't it be great to own my own fitness/spa (resort like) and use both degrees! Dream big, right?

Balance in the making is ultimately my blog for class, but hopefully along the way, I find that true balance of life that we all seek. Best of luck to all who are on the same journey!
